This conference and workshop aims to open an accompanied laboratory space and address the theme of ‘Art and Nature’ through the practice of dance.

Based on the experience of belonging, in which everything influences us and each individual influences everything that surrounds them, the proposal facilitated by choreographer Sofia Brito is a journey to the historical moment of the rupture of the 60s and 70s that marked postmodern thought and how it translated into questions in the artistic practice of dance: ‘what is it to create dance?’/’Who has the authority to do it?’/’what is the point of dancing?’

Sofia proposes to activate an experience through dance practices for a ‘sustainable body’ and a vision that values ​​regeneration and belonging to nature.

If in other areas postmodernism seems to have had no impact, in dance the postmodern revolution left radical changes and brought to the taxation (training, being and being) a culture of the body, an artistic culture and a culture of co -creation that undid the previous models of choreographic leadership and academic techniques until then. He went even further on the issue of ‘cultural incorporation’, since each culture has an associated physical cultural body, a way of inhabiting the body and an associated mythological and philosophical thought.

The “release” dance practices and physical incorporation associated with neuroscience knowledge brought transformative practices for relating to the world.
How can this knowledge, deepened over the last 60 years, bring from “sustainable body practices” the thoughts and ideas of a relationship between humanity and the natural world that mutually nourishes and regenerates itself?
